It's whale watching time on Maui! Now through late April you can see these beautiful mammals along the beaches of the Southwest coast of Maui. Our condos are strategically located across from Kamaole I, and Kamaole III beaches in Kihei, Maui. Just a few steps and you are ready to take in the sights, bring some binoculars and your camera for awesome viewing and that National Geographic moment. For even closer viewing there are several outfits that head out from the harbor just North at Maalea. For regular updates go to www.pacificwhale.org. One of our Facebook and Instagram friends, Pride of Maui, has an excellent operation out of Maalea harbor, and we highly recommend it. Go to www.prideofmaui.com to find out all about them, and to book your next tour. Our Maui Vista condo currently has an opening in November on the 10th through the 18th that you may book now in order to enjoy the whales. Please go to www.vrbo.com/432500 in order to view available dates, and to book. Enjoy!
Just a quick update from our offices in Seattle. The updating of our newest acquisition for your enjoyment is moving along quite nicely, and it is currently available for rent. We've added a 14" memory foam mattress to the master suite (so comfortable), changed out all of the light fixtures, added a new, beautiful entertainment center, and have updated all of the art with a Maui inspired theme. This unit is filling up fast, but there are still May dates available, and it would be a great time to book your Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year vacation times. Kihei has been busy, the Kihei 4th Friday events at the Azeka II mall have been a huge success, and there is always something going on in the arts and entertainment community of Maui.
Aloha from San Fransisco! Down in the Bay Area for Thanksgiving with the family, great times, great food, great weather, and great fun! Took the BART into San Fransisco's Union Square on Saturday, totally crowded with the weekend shopping frenzy, but overall a great experience. Shopping was fantastic, and I highly recommend the Burger Bar on the 6th floor of Macy's, you can build your own concoction with a variety of fresh ingredients. Great milkshakes, and brew list as well.
The weather was awesome, no rain, total sun, great for walks, and to enjoy the overall experience, even got in some time at the driving range with my brother in law at Castlewood Golf and Country Club near Danville. Great exercise, and a nice lesson from a superb golfer. Thanks to the nth degree to all that made this possible.
Check out our VRBO site at www.vrbo.com for the most updated calenadar, and to book us for your next sunshine experience. Remember, whale watching starts now, and goes all the way through March. Book us now for your up and coming Spring Break! Mahalo, and Aloha!
If you need a break from the wet and cold, then we have the solution for you. Book our condo Maui Vista #2211 for December, dates still available. The 9th through the 18th of December is a great time to get away to Kihei, and enjoy the sun, sand, and surf, or maybe it's time for a golf get away, or just some total warmth and relaxation.
Come and enjoy Slack Key Guitar December 12th at 7:30 at the Napili Kai Resort, and stay to enjoy your favorite outdoor activity.
Book for March, and enjoy the whales before they head back to Alaska, they are a magnificent sight.
I hope all is well for you on the East Coast, stay safe and out of harms way.
My wife and I were recently in Atlanta, and if you're ever at the airport, or staying close, and need something for quick and easy entertainment, then jump on the MARTA (like San Fransisco's BART) and take it to Peachtree Station. From there, you are right in the middle of restaurants, nightlife, and two blocks away from the Coca Cola museum, the CNN building and it's tour, and the Georgia Aquarium. What an awesome area! I recommend Alma Cocina for cocktails, dinner, and wine. Excellent Latin American menu, great service, and a totally happening vibe. Tons of fun! Aloha for now.
Aloha from Seattle! Great weather that never seems to want to stop. Just got back from a quick trip to Whidbey Island, check out our friends at Blooms Winery www.bloomswinery.com great people! I didn't know there are currently 8 wineries on the island itself. Just a quick 10 minute trip from Mukilteo to Clinton, and a short drive brought us to Langley. Great shops, restauarants, and just in time for Octoberfest. We brought are mountain bikes, checked in at the Half-Link Bicycle shop, got a great map, and some great advice. There's an awesome 25 mile loop from Langley to Maxwelton Rd. that heads southwest through forests, a valley, farmlands, and to the southwest coast of Whidbey. We returned via Bayview Rd, some grade, but not too bad. Great views of Useless Bay, the coast, and some beautiful properties. 3.5 miles from Langley there was a great farmers market, and entertainment, the cheeses from Little Brown Farm were fantastic. Keeping on Bayview, we returned to Lanley, a nice ride.
Coming up on Maui November 19-21st is the 2012 Maui Invitational college basketball tournament, held at the Lahaina Civic Center, quite an event, with top-rated collegiate teams. Maui is the place for a host of concerts held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (the MAC). October 18th are the Hawaiin Slack Key Masters with Martin Pahinui, a must see at a great venue. Of course, any time on Maui, and especially in Kihei, is a great time to be here. So many things to do and experience, you'll want to return again and again. Aloha for now. Steve
